Solid mid-range camera — better than expected for the price
Definitely an improvement over the older model. I’m not sure why there are some negative reviews — with a solid Wi-Fi connection I’ve had no issues. The image quality is clear, and for the cost this feels like a higher-level (though non-professional) camera that’s worth the money and is super simple to install. If you want a dependable, mid-range camera without paying top dollar, this one does the job nicely.

    Ring Indoor Cam Plus
Excellent camera, excellent price. I bought six of these 2k cameras during a Black Friday sale to replace my 1080p Ring cameras, and I can see many differences. The Indoor Ring Cam Plus is sharper, particularly when zooming in. It also has much better lighting at night… not as grainy as the previous generation. If you can get these cameras on sale as I did, I think they are worth the upgrade from the previous generation.

    Slightly Horizontal Field of View
Replacement for a prior version of the indoor camera. Easy setup. Great image quality. Surprised and pleased when it found my WiFi on it own. However, I was disappointed that the horizontal field of view is slightly narrower than the original camera. Most won’t need to worry about this.

    Don’t waste your money
Update: Ring customer service was great and managed to walk me through solving my issues over the phone. If you’re having any issues at all make sure to contact them. It could be a simple fix .Don’t waste your money. I thought this camera would be an improvement over the older version. Turns out it’s NOT! You can’t zoom at all because the picture is blurry, it takes forever to load the live view and when it does it’s not really a live view, more like a snapshot then you have to shut down the app and the open it to it to connect again. I’m going back to the older version

    Below the Ring standard
I own and successfully regularly use many Ring cameras, and I subscribe to the Amazon service.I wanted to add this new model to my collection, however with disappointing results. In a side-to-side comparison with my other 1080p Ring camera, the 2023 model, on the same wireless network in my home, I got much worse performance from this 2K Cam Plus model. The video is breaking up, lagging, and the camera disconnects frequently. It is unusable, so I am returning it.

    Terrible video quality
Terrible video quality. Returned this camera and put the old one back up which had better video quality. Will be looking at another service with better cameras. The only plus is that they are easy to set up.

Very basic without a paid subscription
This is a revised review. I gave it a 5-star rating after having it for only a few days. I should’ve waited These are my first Ring cameras. I purchased them to replace an older different brand of camera that I had for a while. They were easy to install. The 2nd one was easier to install than the 1st because it automatically connected to Wi-Fi without me having to do it manually. The sound and picture are very good. I thought that you could see colors clearly in the dark because the camera is 2K, but you can’t. You can figure out the images, but they are still gray. It has geofencing but doesn’t have a setting that allows it to automatically detect when you’re at home that stops constantly giving motion notifications. You have to do it manually using the mode feature to either disarm it or put it in home mode. Also, you can’t use the mode feature unless you pay for a subscription. I use the lens cover as a workaround. The other model of security camera that I owned had a setting where you could set it to automatically detect when you’re within the geofencing area and not get constant motion notifications when you’re at home without having to pay for a subscription. I’m going to keep these Ring cameras as backups, but I have a different brand of camera coming that you can set to detect when you’re home and not give motion notifications without needing a paid subscription.
