Work Well As Long As You Understand How Static Works
We are dryer ball veterans and have used them for years. Eventually they need to be replaced, thats how we ended up here. They work extremely well and we are pleased with the product. They have a soft core making them lighter overall so there are no additional noisy sounds going on during the dry cycle. They help to fluff clothes and prevent wrinkles while drying faster. This is where people are incorrectly using them and complaining about static. Static is caused by over drying, the dry fabrics rubbing against each other while heat is being applied will make static issues even worse. These dryer balls help the clothes to dry faster therefore you need to adjust your dry cycle so it’s SHORTER too and possibly use a lower temp. You want the dryer to stop when articles are just dry, not fully dried and still tumbling around another 20 minutes. This applies to all loads of laundry. There is a learning curve to this but it’s not difficult. Once you figure that out, not only will static not be an issue but you will be shaving time off chores as well as gas or electric usage too. We live in the Northeast with brutally cold winters and even then, static is not an issue.

These little guys are great!! They don’t even make a ton of noise bouncing around in the drier like I expected at first. No smell at all. No fibers coming off – in fact, they seem to have settled into the balls, like a used tennis ball becomes less fuzzy, if that makes sense? I guess they help with drying time but I’ve not measured with and without. I use only two at a time. 100% pure wool and no plastic feel, smell, or anything other than neutral & natural!
