Serious Use, Compact Size
Great light and I can’t believe how Streamlight has progressed. I’ve carried a ProTac 2x 500 lumen for ages. Amazing that this is the same output and similar runtime in a comparatively tiny form factor. It’s quick and easy to use, super bright, and is a perfect balance of design and output for serious use while being small enough to be convenient every day. Rechargeability is also a big plus.

Excellent EDC flashlight
This flashlight was a great buy. It is a very good EDC flashlight. It’s small enough to clip on your pocket and keep it there all day long without it being obtrusive. It’s bright with good battery life. I use it quite a bit and only charge it once a week. I never realized how often a flashlight comes in handy until I started carrying this one every day. It is well worth the price. I like that it has two levels of brightness. For close up work, the high level can be blinding but the lower level is very comfortable when up close.

Great lil light!
I bought these for my 85yo mom that was still using, “C” cell batteries in a corroded 1980’s Ray-o-vac flashlight. They’re nice and bright, USB rechargeable, long lasting, and easy to hold.

Not the usual Streamlight quality
I bought this Macrostream USB to replace one just like it that got lost. The original one I had was a very good light for over two years until it was lost. The new light doesn’t function correctly. The light should turn on in the bright setting and then can be switched to the dim setting. This light works the opposite. The battery life is also really short even compared the light that was two years old. I did contact Streamlight Customer Service and told they do not guarantee lights that are sold by third parties on Amazon.

Lasted 4 months with heavy use and abuse
Purchased the macrostream 4 months ago for 60USD total from Amazon with free shipping. Used the flashlight everyday at work until it stopped working today. Flashlight was one of the best edc flashlights I had used in a while. I found the momentary on and high low settings very easy and quick to use. The clip was very strong and has great pocket retention, sometimes after work I would mow 2 acres of bumpy hilly terrain and it would be there every time. The double sided clip allowed me to easily draw from pocket and clip it onto my hat for hands free use or sometimes even nearby wires, cables, sheet metal. The high mode was blinding for self defense and the low mode was perfect for inspection. The battery life was better than most and would last all day most of the time. Having one extra battery on hand would eliminate any battery life complaints, I did not carry one though. I dropped this flashlight A LOT no exaggeration, several times a week at well over the 1 meter shock test. Over the past week it started to flicker and I would have to tap it to get it to stay on. Eventually it stopped working. I took it apart and found that the led was shot. Overall I was very impressed with this flashlight and if taken care of I’m sure it will last the 30,000 hours /3.4yrs the led is projected to last. I will be purchasing a new one from streamlight on Amazon today and will try not to drop it.

Best Flashlight For EDC
I do not usually write reviews, but this one needed a 5 star. I bought this before a trip to Mexico just in case and I ended up using it in a Cenote (natural sinkhole) and I was skeptical if it would be able to handle being underwater for 1 hour. However, to my surprise it performed perfectly and lit up the cave which helped us explore our surroundings. My tour guide was so impressed that he wanted to know what kind of flashlight it was and how it was stronger than three of his flashlights combined. The build quality is excellent and feels really good in the hand also. The button also feels really nice to click and tap.

Great EDC light
This is a great little flashlight. I bought 2 of them and misplaced one for 4 months in my car in hot to freezing conditions and it held a full charge the entire time. My other one I have carried and used almost every day and I only recharge it every 2 weeks or so just to be safe. The 2 brightness settings are great and the bright setting is usually too bright so that also adds to the longevity of the battery life. The light is lightweight and the clip hold well on a pocket. I can’t really think of a con to the light except for maybe the price but they are nice, lightweight, sturdy and they work well over and over.

Perfect EDC Flashlight
I have the original Streamlight Microstream that uses a single AAA battery and have been using it for years, with rechargeable AAA batteries. I was tempted to get the newest version that has a built-in rechargeable battery and micro USB port for charging but the only downside of the Microstream is its fairly short run time due to its small size. More times than not when I went to use it it would run out of power right in the middle of whatever I was doing. But then I saw the newer Macrostream and knew it would be the perfect replacement because it’s only slightly larger and has considerably longer run time, and has the built-in micro USB charging port. I noticed some people complaining that it didn’t have a USB type C charging port and I get it, but I don’t think it’s worth taking a star off just for that. It’s nice that it’s brighter but I wasn’t really concerned about the light output since most uses for a flashlight around the house doesn’t require anything super bright, just bright enough to see what you are doing, I was more interested in increased run time. I purchased some Streamlight headlamps in the past and was disappointed that the actual run time was much shorter than what was advertised. So I was pleasantly surprised when the run time on low for the Macrostream ended up being about 8 1/2 hours when I tested it and they claim 8 hours so nice work there. It has the typical solid build quality that I’ve come to expect from Streamlight and love the pocket clip that allows me to use it as a headlamp with a baseball cap, that has come in handy many times when it was much more convenient to have a hands-free light pointing right where I needed it.So even though the Microstream is smaller, this is still plenty compact and with its longer run time, to me it’s the perfect everyday carry (EDC) flashlight for use in and around the house.

The first output level is supposed to be 500 lumens. But this is what happened:1. First click after leaving off for awhile – low2. Off3. Click again – high –> low cycle4. Off5. Subsequent clicks – high -> low cycle6. Off and wait a few minutes7. Click and starts on low instead of highSo after leaving it off for awhile, it starts on low instead of high.

Lampan kan bara använda Streamlights egna specialbatterier, inga andra batterier. Hade jag vetat det innan så hade jag inte köpt lampan.Det är riktigt dåligt.

I bought this torch for work and camping, after seeing reviews online. It is undoubtedly expensive, but it is far and away the brightest torch for it’s size that I have ever owned. It charges up using a USB cable, which has a handy led indicator to show when it is fully charged. The on/off switch allows for two levels of light, the first press is something like 500 lumens, while the second press gives you 50. If you push the switch and hold it, the light shines until you release it, which is handy. The clip comes with a bit that allows you to place it on the peak of a cap, to act as a head torch, which is surprisingly good. it’s compact size means that I can carry it at work without it being cumbersome, in fact, I hardly notice it is there. The build quality is amazing, it is robust, and will probably last for years.Overall, I would thoroughly recommend this torch for all sorts of uses.
