Stood up to outdoor use in chilly temperatures
I bought this for the stray cat that comes by to eat while I was out of town for a prolonged time.First, it dropped into the high 30s and low 40s at night and it still worked as it should with the batteries. It was not in a sheltered area but was under a short roof overhang situated between a Styrofoam cat shelter and the house.Second, the programing was pretty simple. You set the time of day then set the times for food to dispense, then the amount.I filled, manually dispensed and measured the amount, the amounts dispensed are accurate when compared to the enclosed guide (4 portions = 1/4 cup). I set to dispense 6 portions twice daily and timed it to avoid food sitting overnight.The 3 L size was perfect, it held 13 measured cups of dry cat food.The food tray/bowl does not snap on so I used masking tape at the seems to secure it to the rest of the unit. I also taped the lid to container and it is secured very well to begin with.For my use, I was gone two weeks and he/she was fed twice daily to equal a total of 3/4 cup of food per day, once in the early morning and once early afternoon. Thankfully no raccoons came by to check it out.

Affordable, and worth it!
This has been super helpful to keep our cat fed at specific intervals, with precise measurements. We’re both home at the same times everyday and it was so hard to keep a set schedule with his feeding…but now he has the security of knowing exactly when he’s going to get fed even when we are not home. The setup was super easy- and programming it was intuitive once you read the instructions. It comes with a chart showing you how you could program it to dispense food depending on how much your buddy eats- which was super helpful to me. It beeps loudly when you are programming it, but is silent when it comes to actually dispensing the food on its timed intervals. I was worried it would be loud-but nope! My fat cat still goes running when he hears the food fill the bowl lol…but this has been a game changer. I’d recommend to anyone looking for a high-quality food dispenser!

This awesome feeder changes everything!
No more screaming cat! Why didnt I buy this 8 years ago?! My fat cat cant lose weight no matter what we’ve done and we’ve followed the vets advise to a tee. Well, I was talking to ChatGPT about it and it said, to try feeding her the same amount but more often than my regular twice/day. So, I bought this machine. I’ve programmed it to feed her 6x per day. It allows you to decide how much food is in each drop. She gets two larger meals and 4 snack size meals, equaling 5/8c per day in accordance to her feeding instructions. She’s already dropped seven ounces in just a couple months…not bad when you’ve only got a pound to lose! This feeder is easy enough to program with nicely written instructions. It’s very sturdy and is high quality. It looks nice and is simple to refill. I keep it plugged in so cant speak to battery life. The size is perfect, I only need to refill it about twice per month. Most importantly, its adorable watching the cat dash across the room whenever she hears the food drop, and its totally eliminated her incessant meowing and no more early morning “feed me” yeows! 10/10! BTW, if youre wondering about the water fountain in my picture, I bought it here too and it is excellent!

Great – but missing one all important feature: an app!
Love nearly every aspect of these feeders. We bought 4 of them for our 4 cats and they have worked out very well for us so far. Our kitties have always been early risers (about 5:00 am) and before we bought these, they would come into our bedroom and pester us relentlessly to get up and feed them. After purchasing the feeders, we simply set the first feeding for 5:00 am and as a result, they are now perfectly content and allow us to sleep in for another hour! LOL It’s also rather hilarious to see how conditioned they all are to the sound of the food dropping into the feeding dishes – they happily RUN to the feeders for each meal. We also recently took a short trip – and while we were fortunate enough to have someone come and stay with them while we were away, the automation gave our guests one less thing to have to worry about.Pros:- Pleasing and sturdy design, easy setup and straightforward meal scheduling process- Flexible feeding options (up to 6 feedings per day and up to 6 portions per feeding) – more than enough for our 4 cats- Control pad auto-locks after setting changes- Ample food storage with locking lid- Battery backup, so no worries about missed feedings during power outages- Long power cords- Feeding dishes easily detach from bases, making cleaning a breezeCons- Dark smoked plastic storage hopper makes it difficult to see food levels inside- Control pad at the bottom of the base makes it difficult to see and set – would prefer it angled or on top of the base- Clocks do not keep the same time – very frustrating when attempting to synchronize feedings among multiple machines (need to constantly reset them)- No appWish List:- My number one wish for these machines is an app that could be monitored from anywhere! I would love to be able to easily view the machine status, food level, and backup battery level – with push notifications for alerts. I would like to be able to set and edit the time and my feeding schedules directly via the app. As a bonus, allow a simple way to group multiple machines together in the app, so the time of day and feeding schedules would align across all machines. This feature alone would make these machines an unbeatable value and a 5-star product, in my opinion.- Make the storage hopper more transparent, so it’s easier to see the food level (but an app that monitors the food level would be even better).

Love this product!
I am very happy with this feeder. It didn’t take long for my cat to adjust to the feeder as now, when he hears the food dispensing, he runs to it. I love the fact that it has a battery backup for those times when power goes out in my area, which happens often. If I am taking a trip, I am confident that my cat will be able to eat. Just be sure to fill to the top before leaving.

Fairly easy to get set up. Just have to figure out how much food they need in a day and divide that up over the number of feedings.Works well. Cats enjoy it. It’s helping to slim down our cats as they were “foodies” that eat just since the food is there. So this helps immensely to portion their food each day.
