Decent bamboo cutting boards
Overall: 3 1/2 stars for the smell and 4 stars for the price, value and size of boards.Like other reviews I have read, these do have a very strong, funky woodish smell when you take them out of the plastic. The smallest one took the longest…about a month…to not smell any more. I found it best to wash them and then stand them up in the dish rack to completely dry so they are not touching anything else…this seemed to help get the odor out after 3 washes for the other 3 boards.For the price they are definitely worth buying, and I like the 4 different sizes. I have been using them regularly for the past 2 months and have had no splitting or splintering in any of them. They were perfect to replace the good ones I lost in the September hurricanes.

Great value—4 boards for this price is really outstanding. I did oil them/wax them. (I don’t care who says what is pre-oiled–you will have to do it yourself). After a month of using them, I love them. They are sturdy but lightweight. I am not a weak woman, but I am a small woman. So I got really tired of bringing out my previous, heavy, hardwood board to slice a tomato and an onion. (I’m not butchering chickens with a meat cleaver over here.) These are just right for regular kitchen use. And super lovely. I keep them on my counter and they are really nice to look at.

Updated review: spitting and splintering
UPDATE:Originally, one of the boards arrived with a split in it, but I was still happy with them. After a few weeks of light use, hand washing and drying of the boards, I figured it was time to update this review and knock these down to 1 star.The boards do not hold up very well. Cut marks are deep, and they are starting to splinter. Another of the boards has also developed a split.Save your money and go with cutting boards from someone else.ORIGINAL REVIEW:I bought these cutting boards to cut down on microplastic exposure. This would be a 5 star review except that one of the boards arrived cracked (noticed while hand washing all of them before use). Despite the one cracked board, I did not return them, as I immediately started using the boards, was too busy to deal with it at the time, and the overall value was still there.These boards are great, the value is excellent since you get several of different sizes. I like that all sizes have the moat for juices, because sometimes you are cutting one or two chicken breasts or one steak and don’t want to have to grab a big board.I honestly am writing this review because I wouldn’t be surprised if the company sends me a replacement. If they do, I will update the review to reflect their customer service.

These arrived in a timely manner, as promised. We have been using them since Christmas. I carved the turkey on the largest one. I used an electric knife and the cutting board was a nice and stable surface. I did actually scrape the wood with the knife, but it’s fine. The canal that runs around the center carried away juices released from the meat. I used a smaller board to cut fruit to make Cranberry relish and again, it worked nicely and carried fruit juices in the canal. I love these and the option of 4 different sized surfaced to use. Very happy with these and I would buy again!

Bought these for my boyfriend, and they’re only a month old, the first time one was used and hand washed it split. They’re all splitting now, even the ones that haven’t been used or washed yet. For the price I’m very disappointed in the quality.
