Give the hose a short sharp pull(approximate 2-4 in) and you will feel the hose automatically retract. You can interrupt this process by pulling the hose again.
Dealing with Tangles Inside The Reel
Extend the hose to its full length and then permit it to retract smoothly as you walk it back to the hose reel housing . This will allow the self-layering mechanism to layer the hose correctly into the reel.

Excellent quality on a retractable hose
This is an excellent hose that is retractable and goes back to the housing without any issues. The water power is great on the water pressure with nozzle. The price point was great, the durability of the hose is excellent, and the ease of use is without question. The hose functions like it is and it does not keep any debris as it retracts.

Really like this hose reel — so much that I bought two: one for the front yard and one for the back. I use them to water my rose bushes and berry plants, and they also work great with my pressure washer.For mounting, I installed each reel on a 4×4 post (actual size 3.5” x 3.5” due to standard lumber shrinkage). I set the posts about 3 feet deep using one 50-lb bag of concrete per post. To make the hose reel fit securely, I also fabricated a custom bracket to match the post dimensions. Solid setup, and it’s holding up great.

Best invention ever!
We purchased this to make watering the flowers around my pool deck easier because I do not like rolling up a hose. It gave me enough motivation to actually water those plants knowing how easy the hose would be put up. The length is great, and it has held up several months with no issues so far.

Very easy to install and works as it should. Not satisfied with the nozzle gun it came with as I wouldn’t stop leaking, no matter what seal it had inside or how tight I had it on the hose. Regardless, the hose reel swivels and preforms as it should so no complaints so far 👍🏼

Best hose dispenser ever
I don’t know why I didn’t buy one of these sooner. So handy and easy to use. And it keeps the hose tidy and tucked away when not in use. Don’t scrimp and get the shorter hose version … get the lonest hose. Definitely worth it.

I like this hose a lot so far. I installed it myself and it’s easy to use.
I love it. I worked kind of hard (for me) to install, but I did it. I didn’t want to attach it to my siding so I did buy a 4″x4″ post and one of those metal spikes with a metal square base for 4x4s. I was able to attach it, but the screws included with the hose system were not big enough or sturdy enough. They bent under the weight of the hose box and I replaced them with screw bolts that were probably double the size at least. Has been holding well ever since. The functionality is fantastic. I’m so happy that I don’t have to sit and unwind and rewind hoses manually anymore. I haven’t had it for years yet, but I hope it holds up for a long time. I am keeping it fairly shaded on the north side of the house under the eaves, but this is Florida, so I’ll see how long it tolerates our heat and sun. My pic was taken with the original screws that didn’t last but a couple of days.

Really good, but could be better.
I ordered the 5/8 90’ with 6’ whip. Good for what it is and the price. There is a 2 year warranty for UV damage in case you have this in direct sunlight, so that’s a plus. One of the main reasons I got this reel was because the whip came out in line with the reel and not perpendicular like others but one issue I have is that I wish the whip was removable. I don’t need 6’ and I wish I could exchange it out for a shorter 3’ whip. Another plus was that it’s a sleek design being all black. I love how easy it is to remove and store for the winter with just one pin. This bracket to mount it is plastic and I know they upgraded the bracket for 2025 to all metal so I would just spend the extra and get the metal bracket version. It’ll be worth it. The hose feels cheap and it’s more of an PVC coated material and it might just be me being bias, but I’m spoiled with my rubber Flexzilla hoses. Like other reviews have said, I don’t know how long the hose will last and with it not being able to be replaced I think that’s also something to consider. Overall I’d give it 4/5 stars and I think with some minor improvements this could be the best one out there, especially for the price.
