Why did you pick this product vs others?:I like the idea of a fully enclosed hose box and in fact had an older SunCast box that unfortunately succumbed to the elements. Most hose boxes are either cheaper plastic or inordinately expensive.This unit was reasonably priced and seemed the closest to the reel that I was replacing.  The unit is well-made and sturdy with robust hose connections, and the winding mechanism is very smooth with minimal effort required to reel in my 100 ft hose. I did have to purchase a longer reel to hose bib connecting hose since the supplied hose is very short and really assumes your hose bib is right adjacent to the reel box. Giraffe offers connection hoses in a number of other length that are well constructed. Overall seems to be a good value.

Nice quality and great functionality, however…
The hose reel is a very nice design and overall quality. I particularly like the back and forth mechanism for consistantly wrapping the hose onto the reel. I was also pleased that my 75 ft 3/4 inch hose fits nicely inside the reel and is much easier to roll and unroll with this than manualy coiling it, which is quite a workout. However, the 3/4 male hose thread used to attach your hose was blocked by paint/powder coating and would not fit even a high quality solid brass hose fitting. I had to chase the threads with the correct 3/4 female hose fitting die to get my hose to finally fit. After that, no problems, no leaks. Using your customers as your final production QA is NOT acceptable business practice!

Giraffe Tools Hose Container: Defective Junk and Shameful Warranty Service
Let me start by saying that my experience with Giraffe Tools hose container has been nothing short of a nightmare. From the defective product to the abysmal warranty service, this company has managed to disappoint at every turn.Upon receiving the hose container, I was initially impressed by its design and promised functionality. However, my optimism quickly turned to frustration when I discovered that the unit was defective. The reel mechanism was jammed, rendering the entire container useless. The belt would fall off the spline while rotating, the spline wasn’t fastened to shaft.In my attempt to resolve the issue, I reached out to Giraffe Tools customer service. After explaining the problem and providing a video showcasing the malfunction, their response was shockingly inadequate. Instead of acknowledging the defect and offering a prompt solution, they suggested sending me a replacement belt. A replacement belt for a jammed reel? Are they serious?When I insisted that a belt would not fix the underlying issue, they backtracked and said they would need to send a screw from China for me to fix it myself. Yes, you read that right. They expected me to wait for an international shipment of a single screw to repair their shoddy product and do a tear down of the unit.Frustrated by their incompetence, I turned to Amazon for assistance. To my relief, Amazon promptly resolved the issue and provided me with a satisfactory solution. Their customer service was efficient, understanding, and focused on resolving the problem, unlike Giraffe Tools.What’s even more disappointing is that Giraffe Tools boasts a two-year warranty for their products. However, when it came time to honor that warranty and replace the defective unit, they failed miserably. A warranty is only as good as the company’s willingness to stand behind its products, and Giraffe Tools fell short in this regard.In conclusion, I cannot in good conscience recommend Giraffe Tools hose container or any of their products.Their lackluster quality control, dismissive customer service, and failure to honor warranty commitments are clear indicators of a company that prioritizes profits over customer satisfaction. Save yourself the headache and avoid Giraffe Tools at all costs.

Works sooooooo much better than the cheap plastic ones. The track winds the hose very nice. We are using a commercial great hose which is a bit thicker and still wraps nice. Built well no leaks handle is sturdy water pressure is great. A bit heavy so harder to move which is a good think if you don’t want it to bad if you’ll be moving the unit from time to time.
