So I got this last year, I waited to see the longevity of it before I wrote my review. It is mounted on the wall outside my house, it has held up amazingly. The retraction function still works great! I love that it pivots with the direction I need, it’s 100’ so it hits where I need it to. The nozzle it comes with still works great and has held up quite well! I did detach it for the harsh winter, which was as easy as pulling the pin out and it slid right off the wall. Truly love it and would recommend it to anyone considering buying it!

It worked well enough… until it didn’t!
I purchased three of these retractable hoses in March 2022. They were somewhat difficult to install- a two person job – especially if installing into concrete wall or brick. I used each one maybe once a week around my gardens. The first hose broke in August 2022. A second broke by exploding in my face in September. The third hose (the one that was used the least due to location in gardens needing less water) still works, but I don’t have faith it will last. I contacted Giraffe tools to honor their 2 year replacement warranty. I had to “chat” back & forth for a hour because their rep claimed they had no record with of my purchase. I sent copies of invoice, screenshots, etc. I was told they’d send replacements. Later that day, someone contacted me via email and I went back & forth with them on the same issue I thought I resolved earlier in the day. They claimed no proof of purchase from Amazon even though I had receipts & obviously bought them from Amazon or I wouldn’t be leaving an Amazon review. They said “contact Amazon.” So, today I spent about 45 minutes chatting with Amazon, forwarding the chat transcripts & multiple emails to Amazon customer service who agreed that Giraffe tools should’ve honored their warranty. But, since they didn’t, Amazon will offer refund less restocking fee. That was the only solution. Now, subtracting for a restock fee seems odd because these are broken; they cannot be restocked! However, since it’s the only way to recoup some of the loss, then that’s what I must take. My advice is to not order this retractable hose or any products from Giraffe tools because apparently they are of subpar quality and the company will not honor their stated warranty. Save yourself time and trouble and find a retractable hose elsewhere. And, make sure you pay via a credit card that has a product warranty benefit, just in case.

BEST HOSE EVER!!!
We live on a small (3 acre) acreage (3 acres) with a barn, and as such have gone through soooo many hoses. This hose is by far the best hose we have ever had. It doesn’t leak. It doesn’t drag on the ground. It hangs at whatever height you want (so it isn’t on the ground) pivots perfectly. It was such a hit I have since ordered 2 more. We have one in the barn, one on the side of the house and one discreetly at the front.When it retracts it is super smooth. locks in any position (with a simple extra pull). It is an initial outlay but it last so much longer than any other hoses and it stops me from destroying my ground flowers and cursing. The video is of the one in the barn and the ones with the brick background are on the side of the house. Sturdy material. Super long (well one is 100 feet and 2 are 50′. I can’t say enough about these. I even convinced my sister to get one!

Good unit, change the nozzle tho.
I own/run a pet boarding kennel, I got the 1/2 style for a trial run and have been somewhat pleased with it. As stated by others, flow is reduced, at least that is what I saw as well.Overall construction is nice, love the metal support bracket, I did upgrade to stainless bolts for its installation.The retraction works nicely, I did get the 5/8 version as well due to the initial flow restriction. I have 80psi at the spigot so I was disappointed in the lack of flow with BOTH models.For the price of the unit I guess they put all the money into the retraction and hose capabilites, the nozzle is a different story, it is quite cheaply made. And THAT’S where the issue lies, I swapped them out just recently with the Orbit 7way and the difference was astounding. From the messy plastic nozzle to a metal one that is not expensive is a needed upgrade.I’ll be purchasing more of the units, probably the 1/2 style now that the flow issue has been figured out.

Super units and excellent customer service
I have three of these, one failed on the bracket and in the heat the unit actually bent and fell off of the unit. The others are perfectly fine. Boy do they have recoil! But aside from the initial failure, the seller/manufacturer and their representative Chrissy have gone above and beyond to replace the failed unit. Refreshing customer service. I would encourage the metal bracket as the upgrade will help in hot weather to avoid any issues.

****update***Customer service reached out and sent a whole new unit since it has a two year warranty. Very great customer service. Hoping the new unit lasts longer than two months as I do use it daily to water my flower gardens and I love the retractable hose . Makes everything look best and clean without a hose hanging around .Very cheaply made for the price . Works well half the time . The other half it takes great effort to pull hose out of reel. Had two months and already got hole in center of hose . Hose cannot be replaced or mended . I loved the concept but not worth the investment.

Hose retracts and works fine however weight of hose filled with water has caused plastic mounting to sag with sun exposure. Would not recommend this design for the 100ft hoseUPDATED: Fantastic customer service. Followed up on my review and replace unit Seller deserves 5Star based on desire to make it right

Installed as per instructions. Turned the water on and the hose reel leaked like a sieve from within. I purchased two of these reels and I’m now reluctant to install the second one based on the quality of this one.

Sometimes gets stuck when reeling in. It is fairly heavy so make sure what ever it is you have it attached to is strong and/or reinforced. It is a smaller gage hose but has lots of pressure. The spray nozzle works well, the auto reel works good other than Sometimes having to give it a little tug to get it to continue to roll in. It is very easy to install, also easy to take off the mount to bring in for storage.

Quite disappointed as the reel jammed within one month. Reached out to the company as they claim to have a 2 year warranty, it’s been over a week now and no one has still gotten back to me. The product is manufactured so inconsistently where there are different screws for the same type of holes and some are very difficult to take off. One of the holes was even held together with a glue instead of a screw (my first time seeing something like this). Heard good reviews about the product but very disappointed that it jammed so fast, couldn’t even be a DIY fix and no customer support is why I give this a 0 star. Also another thing to note: the bolting screws that screw onto side of house are MASSIVE. will need an extremely large drill bit to secure. Might not even fit between the grout of the brick. Yardworks from Canadian tire is decent. Got 3 years out of that.
