I have the ability to design a customized pattern, as well as establish static colors, smooth fades, and flashing sequences, and even make a pattern that is static. I’ve been switching between the “Smart Life” and Alexa voice commands without any issues. The music sync mode is a fun touch too—it reacts smoothly to beats during gatherings.Durability-wise, these lights feel built for the long haul. Vibrant colors
We installed this 100-ft strand along the edge of the garage because my family likes having a bit of color out front, especially now that the evenings get dark early. The lights feel solid, and every bulb has a small screw hole that makes installation steadier than I expected. Once everything was in place, the waterproofing held up well. My kids enjoy picking colors from the app. Function wise, the preset scenes do add a festive feel when we sit outside after dinner. The only thing is that the app takes a moment to figure out, there are a lot of modes, and sometimes I have to tap around to find the right section controls. Brightness is steady though, since it’s powered through a regular outlet.

Normally for outdoor lights I would not think of them as being “permanent” based on past experiences… but not having to deal with putting up/taking down Christmas lights was incentive enough to give these lights a try and so far, I’m so glad to have taken the plunge.I like that the light modules are quite big and seem to be very well sealed as are both the control unit and transformer, but of course the real durability test will be to see if they can withstand the Canadian winter… especially the 3M tape. However to note, they can also be screwed in, which is what I have chosen to do. So far, I’m impressed with the construction/build quality and find these are comparable to the higher-priced ones I’ve seen sold at Costco.The lights are very bright and the glow fills in the empty spots nicely…similar effect like traditional color bulb lights… but now that I know the quality of the lights, I’ll have to consider adding another 50’ or 100’ next year to fully cover the front of the house to include our second storey rooftops. Will still wait to see how this first set goes through a Canadian Winter since permanent lights are a pricey endeavor, but well worth it if I never have to do this again…or at least not for many years down the road.The remote is convenient for basic functions, but I think unless you use the app, you’re missing out on the full potential of getting these smart lights. You can customize quite a bit with the app which I found was quite similar to a few of the other apps we have for indoor lights… very short learning curve to really customize your look.Overall, I’m very happy… that my wife is very happy with these lights. I’m also happy that I won’t have to take them down in the new year. The customization of the lights make them way superior to any traditional holiday lighting and make permanent lights so much more than just for Christmas. Good for any holiday or special occasion, parties and even for regular every day accent lighting.

These lights are awesome. They’re our first set of permanent lights, and since we wanted them installed high up on the peak of our barn, we decided to hire someone to do it for safety reasons rather than difficulty. Installation itself is pretty easy.Each light can be attached using the adhesive backing or secured with a nail or screw through the small hole provided on each light. It comes with screws, but the installation man used his own because he felt he needed longer ones.The 50 ft length was perfect for covering the section of the barn we wanted, with enough extra to run partway down the sides.The lights are very bright and clearly visible from the road, which is about a football field away. They’re easy to control with either the remote or the app, and the variety of colours and themed lighting options make them really fun and customizable. It’s also cool how you can attach more lights if you want to cover more area.Very cool lights.

My husband’s least favourite chore is putting up, and taking down, the Christmas lights. Neither of us are keen on heights, and it seems every year we have to replace the clips, or worse, the lights themselves. I’ve had my eye on permanent lights for a few years, but the professional ones are too expensive! I finally decided to go the DIY route.We completed the installation in about 2.5 hours for a 50ft string. We did have some issues getting some of the lights screwed in because aluminum soffits are not exactly designed for it.Then comes the fun part: playing with the app! I set up custom patterns to cheer on my team for the 2025 World Series (Let’s Go Blue Jays!) and for Halloween. I can’t wait to pick more designs for Christmas, Valentine’s, Easter or whatever else I feel like celebrating!The lights can also be triggered by sound, but I found it a little less sensitive than I would like. I’ll give it a try with spooky sounds for Halloween night, but I doubt I’ll get much use out of this feature.My neighbour loves them, and her husband loves the idea of not putting up the lights every year too! I’m pretty happy with them too!
