Updated 11/3: bought six more strands. Found a solution to put them outside using black plastic electric boxes I found on Amazon to protect the USB heads. They have been in rain and snow for the past month and are all working fine.It took a long time to figure out but after a few hours of playing with the app and they are easily controlled by my phone at a distance using Bluetooth. And I created some custom light shows with the app. You can also increase the brightness on the app. My partner and I like the light level because it’s not obnoxiously light which is important here in vt so there is not excessive light pollution. But they are likely a hair dimmer at full brightness from conventional non color changing strips. Like an max 8 out of 10 brightness. Still looks good though. You can set a preset on off schedule using the remote or custom on off schedule with the app.Original: Bought two of the 66’ smart strands so we could leave them up for the holidays as we transition for Halloween to Christmas. I love the sparkling mode with purple for Halloween although the orange and purple looks good too. There are a variety of modes beyond just the colors which are fun to play with. Very easy to sync up the strands if the strand plugs are next to one another. The strands look like they’ll be fine outdoors although I would not put the usb plug portion outside it will absolutely get damaged by water. Make sure the plug is somewhere accessible so you can use the remote which seems to need a good line of sight and close proximity to work. Fortunately we have a power strip with usb-A ports in it. I would recommend purchasing something like that with these or they will be difficult to set up because they do not include blocks or adapter to provide power.Worked great for Halloween and 2024 election eve. My neighbors love them.

Gentle colorful lighting
These adorable lights are very easy to use. The remote works well and allows me to change the colors as often as I want. They are good gentle lighting. They are pretty small but they are closely placed so the lighting effect is good.

Great but 2 different types
These lights are both great and lacking at the same time. I ordered 4 sets of 33ft and 1 set of 66ft for the window wreaths and garland around my door. For some odd reason, they are the exact same looking lights, same remote and everything and were ordered from the same link on Amazon but came with 2 different sets of directions that claim the 33 ft and the 66 ft are different brands. I was a bit confused so I picked only the “Surplife” app to use because my shorter (33ft) could be paired to that as well. However, that made things a little confusing because the shorter strands have different controls on the app than the 66 ft strand. Why? I don’t know, considering the remotes are the same. Anyway, that kind of puts me in a bind because some of the things I can do on the shorter stands, like customize a few colors on one, you cannot do on the 66ft strand. I’ll post screenshots of what each stand looks like in the app.Also, I’m not super in love with the USB as a plug. It does not feel very secure and I had to buy charging ports for each strand. My original plan was to use a double port, but the USB plugs are so bulky that you cannot fit 2 on a double port. They also stick out pretty far from the wall when plugged in, which is annoying. I will be getting an extension cord box to put the usb port in for outside because it doesn’t seem like it would take kindly to snow or rain.In terms of the actual lights themselves, I find that they’re very bright and you can turn them down if need be. The only trouble I’m having is that because those are 2 separate brands that I was sent, the colors don’t always match up. For example, when I click the warm white button on my remote, my 33fts all match but my 66ft doesn’t exactly match up unless I mess with it. Annoying since these were purchased from the same link.In terms of shipping, they were packed well but my longer set arrived a few hours later.Overall, even though I have some complaints, when you compare the other options out there, I feel like this is an affordable and functional option. I had been looking at Govee string lights for a while because I have Govee pro lights on my house year round and they are not really in an ideal price range. These ones, however, are much more affordable and I hope they last. It’s also really fun to be able to change your lights up every day. I’ve done so many different colors and options so it’s been fun to use so far this holiday season.Hopefully this is helpful to you!
