These are large, heavy/substantial hooks, and are a very attractive addition to our baths. I installed a total of 11 of these into the walls, drilling through thin wood planks / medallions in three bathrooms. After 4 years, they look just as good as new … EXCEPT – every single metal baseplate has loosened from the cheap, undersized mounting hardware provided with the hooks. Over time, I’ve replaced the plastic anchors and screws with more substantial ones on every single hook to address this issue. The bayonet mounting system is partly to blame, since it takes a bit of downforce to seat the hook on the baseplate fingers … no problems once I installed better anchors. I will add this system sure beats turning in setscrews using a skinny allen wrench, the usual arrangement from other suppliers. These would be perfect if better plastic anchors and screws were supplied with the hooks. If you buy these, do yourself a favor and buy a box of self-drilling plastic anchors.
