“A Helpful Neighbor and a Solid Hose Reel”
This garden hose reel has been a great addition to my yard. It was simple to assemble—especially thanks to my kind older neighbor who came over and showed me exactly how to put it together. Once it was set up, it worked perfectly. The reel turns smoothly, keeps the hose neatly stored, and makes watering so much easier. A good product made even better by a helpful neighbor and a little shared wisdom.

I should get a number of years out of this.
Like many of us I’ve had several of these made by the same manufacturer over the last 20 or 25 years. They are great and easy to operate, far easier than wrapping it up by hand and hanging it over a static hanger.My one frustration is that the lead in hose is always a female to female these days, and the fitting on the unit itself is straight instead of 90° like the earlier ones were. This means that sooner or later you’re liable to be putting strain on that lead in hose because how many people turn their hose reel 90° to the side of their house to accommodate the hose bib?Also there are times when I would prefer to be able to use for example a std 25 ft mail-female lead in hose to reach areas further out in the yard. The intentionally make the female to female hoses more expensive because they know they’ve got you, and even with that you can’t get them with a 90° fitting and you typically can’t get them more than 6 ft long.Oh, larger Wheels would be nicer too. These work fine on a hard surface and they’re not terrible on a gravel driveway but they are pretty bad when it comes to dragging it across the lawn for example to go to another hose bib on the other side of the house.

Handy Hose Reel, easy to use, works great.
Had one of these handy Hose Reel Carts for a very long time, but the hot AZ. sun finally destroyed the sturdy plastic. Time for a new one. This one was so easy to use – right out of the box. It also is made of plastic, though the plastic used to make these Carts is very thick and sturdy, and do usually last for many years. We had a very long hose that actually fit on the big wheel, with a bit of room left over. The hookup is simple, the handle works smoothly, allowing the Wheel to spin perfectly. Only had one little hiccup – the short hose that attaches/screws from the cart to the water faucet had a bit of bend in the hose, not allowing all the water pressure to work. It was packaged curled around the wheel, but a little tight in the box. Ended up laying it out straight in the sun for a day – that did the trick, the little hose relaxed and is now round at that area – perfect.

Cheap plastic!
Only having used the reel for 3 months and the connection of the hose to the real cracked. It is now useless! can’t return because it’s past the return time window.

Bring it inside for winter, it’ll last years
For the money it’s a good hose reel. If I take care of it (empty the water from the little hose that attaches to the spigot, dry it out and bring it inside for the winter) it will last a few years. If I don’t bring it inside for winter then I will have to buy a new one next year. It’s plastic so it’ll definitely crack in the cold.

we love the Sun cast is STRONG they last for years and years we have four hoses and they’re 100 foot each on it. The big wheel collects the hose quickly and effectively. You will love this for the price for sure!! Don’t bother with any others we’ve tried them and it doesn’t work at all like this one!
